Spring Capsule Wardrobe

Spring Capsule Wardrobe

Capsule wardrobes have been all over the blogs for…ever and a day but ya know, better late than never right? When we moved into our house this past summer, I wound up getting rid of a lot of stuff. There’s nothing worse than moving somewhere new and taking along things that literally need to be left where they are. Needless to say, that left my closet looking a bit empty. The past few months, I’ve been making do with what I have, it’s easy to get through the winter season when you’re all bundled up and indoors anyway. Now that’s it Spring though, I’ve been looking towards my sad closet and referencing my own blog posts (like this one on mom style and this cute outfit I love) and am really ready to get my wardrobe together. So where does one start when they need inspo on anything? The blogs! I decided that a capsule wardrobe was how I wanted to approach my closet. It makes sense for who I am, what I do, and the intentional practices I’m working on implementing in my life. I played around on Polyvore for awhile and came up with what a Spring capsule wardrobe would look like for me. Some things I already have, other things I have but want to replace with more quality items, and some things I won’t make it around to getting this season, but I like what I’ve come with. I also like having a sort of guide to help me with shopping and resisting impulse buys that end up in the back of my closet, never to be seen again.

To me, a capsule wardrobe should be something that reflects your personal style with every piece being something you love. I know minimalism is big right now and some people are focused on a certain number of items within their capsules but for me, the number is less important than just making sure I have a wardrobe I love and actually wear. Because wasting money and space on anything I don’t…just doesn’t make sense for my life. With my capsule wardrobe, I’m planning on taking my time and being intentional. Quality over quantity is the goal so if I don’t get everything that’s okay with me. As long as every piece I add is a step towards making the capsule complete. I’ll definitely be sharing my finds along the way as I’m really excited to finally be putting some intention in my closet. New territory for the girl who just bought whatever caught my eye with a closet full of clothes and nothing to wear. I’m even thinking about doing one for the boys because their closets could use an overhaul as well. We’ll see…
