You know one of my favorite hashtags to scroll on the ‘gram? #momstyle. Judge me. But honestly, as a beauty and fashion loving mama who’s tries to keep it cute with three boys in tow, can you blame me? And yes, for me “Mom Style” in particular is my thing, because when you’re chasing dreams and kids, comfortability is right up there with chic-ablity…yep made that up. Anyway, there are ton a fashionable mama’s killing it on Instagram (check that hashtag and thank me later) but if there is one celebrity that does mom style the best, to me, it’s Tia Mowry. Maybe it’s the fact that I just love her (I mean she has a cooking show!) or possibly it’s because she can rock a straight look AND a natural curly fro…either way. She kills it. With the arrival of Spring and wardrobe revamps under way, it’s time to take notes ladies!
ERRANDS + THINGS LIKE THAT
Because most days…that’s all I’m doing anyway. This is the perfect “mom style” uniform. I love how a simple pair of jeans with signature knee rips screams comfort but trendy. Paired with a simple striped top instead of opting for something solid adds another touch of style to an easy outfit. And every one knows a pair of classic chucks are the perfect option for a day full of running around.
BOSS LADY MEETINGS + OTHER EVENTS
I liveee for an all black outfit with a statement piece. For me, this is hands down the easiest outfit to create. Not only is black like the universal chic color but it’s also one of those colors that looks great on everyone. What I really love about this black outfit in particular (besides that gorg kimono) are the wide leg pants and flowy top. It’s also just so effortless. Adding a statement piece like this kimono is one of the easiest ways to take your look from meh to yaaass. If you do nothing else with your wardrobe this spring, invest in some statement layering pieces okay!
My Picks: Kimono
SUNDAY BRUNCH DAY + LUNCHES WITH FRIENDS
Am I the only one who gets dressed up for brunch and quick bites with friends? I don’t get out the house much during the week so when I’m not rocking my “errands mom style”, I like to get a little cute. I love this denim on demin look and it’s another easy outfit to put together with little ease but lots of style. Again, those wide leg jeans are perfect and paired with simple sandals set the look off.
My Picks: Wide Leg Denim
DATE NIGHT WITH THE MR.
And finally, for those (hopefully not so) rare nights out with the hubs, we can skip all comfort and go straight for chic and sexy. This is the time to pull out your favorite clutch and put a little more smoke in your smokey eye. This long dramatic asymmetrical white top is a perfect piece to add some drama to an otherwise simple look.
My Picks: Asymmetrical Shirt
