I feel like this review biased and here’s why: My hair just likes As I Am products. There. We can really just end this here but because I’m trying to do better and actually share meaningful content that you guys can use, we’re going to do this proper. The full official review of the cleansing product, that replaced my other staple cleansing product (hey Coconut Cleansing Conditioner), that’s from the same brand, becausssseee….My hair just likes As I Am products.
You might remember a few months back I had a natural hair crisis of sorts, when I went to numerous beauty supply stores on wash day only to find my all time favorite cleansing conditioner wasn’t trying to be found that day. I wound up picking up the As I Am Cleansing Pudding and have been testing it ever since.
So why As I Am Cleansing Pudding? Well, I was in the As I Am section and it said sulfate free. And as you know, I stay away from sulfates for the most part unless I’m shampoo’ing which isn’t often. Some other notables:
- Cleanses hair of residue and product build-up
- Moisturizes as it cleanses
- Rids scalp of excess sebum, environmental impurities and shedding scalp debris
- Provides a soothing scalp treatment
- Helps promote a healthy environment for hair growth.
Key Ingredients: Tangerine, Aloe Vera, Castor Oil, Vegetable Glycerin, Saw Palmetto and Phytosterols – As I Am
The consistency of the As I Am Cleansing Pudding is super thick. I feel like it really coats the hair. Might be a little heavy for people with a looser hair texture but my 4b-c hair loves it. As with most products that don’t contain sulfates, it doesn’t get foamy or sudsy but that’s one of the weird psychological reasons I like that it’s so thick. It’s very penetrating without the suds so you’re hair still feels clean after using it.
Like the other As I Am products, one of the things I notice after using the Cleansing Pudding is my coils literally spring to life. It’s a really weird thing to describe but it’s like…once I start massaging it into my fro my coils go from being fed up to flourishing. Yep. That’s really how I would describe it.
After rinsing out, my hair is always super soft and moisturized which is love because I hate that squeaky clean feeling that most shampoos give you.
I’ve used this cleansing pudding most wash days since I bought it back in June and I’m definitely sold. It might not replace my beloved Cleansing Conditioner forever, but it’s a solid stand in. If you’re looking for a cleansing product that really cleans, leaves your hair soft, and gives life to 4b-c coils this might be the one for you.
Have you tried the As I Am Cleansing Pudding? What do you think?
Stay Blessed Beautiful!
