Natural Mama: The Only Shampoo I Use for My Toddler

Taliah Waajid Berry Clean

It’s wash day for man man and it’s days like this I think back and am like bless my mother’s heart. I’m the oldest of three girls and every time I even think about what wash day must have been like for her…LISTEN…She is a soldier. Most of you know I have three boys, but my youngest is the only one with hair. The older ones have low cuts but my husband and toddler are natural boys :). The hubs started growing his locs last year and the plan is to let man man’s  (that’s my toddler) hair grow out. We let it do it’s own thing. He’s a free spirit like his parents so it works for him. But anyway, yes on to wash day.

When man man was younger, wash day was a lot easier but as he got older and hit two years old, it is an event. I was on the lookout for a shampoo that was moisturizing, detangling, conditioning, and gentle. We went through our fair share of testing because clearly, we’re picky. After picking this Taliah Waajid Berry Clean Shampoo a few months back, it has been our staple and we’ve never looked back!

The Taliah Waajid Kinky, Wavy, Natural 3 in 1 Berry Clean Shampoo, Conditioner, and Softener (yes that’s the whole name) is everything I was looking for in one bottle. It has a really nice scent but it still gentle enough for me to wash man man’s hair without him freaking out if water drips on his face. A little goes a long way and I only need to use a small amount to get a good lather. Since this is a 3 in 1 I don’t use any conditioner–don’t come for me natural mamas!–only this and his hair feels so soft and moisturized after we’re done. I follow up with a little moisturizer, usually whatever I have in close reach–and detangle if I have to, although this shampoo does a great job of getting all the tangles out during wash. I’m telling you, it’s everything.

Ever since using this and cutting down the wash day process both man man AND I have been much happier people. I’ll probably just use this shampoo for as long as I’m in charge of washing his fro and I’m sure he’s good with that ;).

What do you use on you natural kids hair? Are their wash days a lot of work or do you keep it lowkey?

Stay blessed beautiful!
