Happy Friday!! Shondaland family…y’all okay this morning?? I’m still recovering! Last night was just…I can’t. Can you really believe it’s the end of the first month of 2015. I mean, I know they say time flies the older you get but sheesh. I just need a minute to catch my breath! Anyway, headed into this much needed weekend, even though when you’re working a full time job and have a budding side hustle…there really are no such things as weekends anymore. The good thing though is working from home means I can spend time with my babies in between writing and client work and that’s all that matters! Especially seeing as though my oldest son is turning 10 next week…I remember turning 10. That is scary…Leaving you all with a few good links from around the web! Enjoy your weekend!
Why I Stopped Explaining Myself: I could so relate to this post on Love, Darbie about learning to stop explaining yourself. I had a whole tweet session a few days ago about surrounding yourself with people who understand the vision and how that just makes things much easier. But tied directly to that is not explaining to people who don’t understand the vision, why you’re doing what you’re doing. It’s your journey and yours alone so do what you feel in your heart is right and leave the rest to God.
I Just Quit My Job: One of my very favorite industry/career blogs has to be Hashtags + Stillettos. I love her candid interviews and am always here to support a fellow woman entrepreneur. At this stage in my journey and career, this post about making the leap from comfortable full time job to starting her own business was so motivating and inspiring. I also just love hearing about people’s journeys into entrepreneurship. Such an interesting topic to me!
Attract Abundance. Any Time, Unexpectedly, Out of Nowhere: GG Renee from All the Many Layers is always spot on with her soul stirring posts. I always feel like she is literally speaking my thoughts when she writes. Incredible. This post about being a source of gratitude, all day, everyday, was so on time it’s crazy. Her points about attracting abundance spoke to my soul as usual and is a perfect reminder to focus on positivity, light, and love at all times. And above all else be thankful!
Stop Confusing a Hobby with a Side Hustle: I recently discovered Twenties Unscripted and her bio on her home page was enough to have me hooked! It’s hilarious and too real but I love that about her blog. When I tell you this Hobby vs Side Hustle post was nothing but facts on facts I’m serious. And it’s no shade no shade but sometimes I truly think people are misunderstood about the time, work, and dedication that goes into this “writing and blogging thing”. Just read it and get your life real quick :).
Stay blessed beautiful!
